They don’t just have Phở, but also Pad Thai and a curry noodle soup dish made right in front of your eyes in the cooking area in the middle of the prepared foods section. This store does indeed serve Phở, either to eat in their dining area or to take away. What? Phở at a grocery store?! Yes, my friends. The reason I come here often is because I love the hot meals they cook, specifically, the Phở. This special Giant Eagle store is the first in the Greater Akron area to be a «Market District» where one could find a large variety of higher-end groceries and prepared foods. This is a place to shop if I’m looking to splurge. I don’t see myself shopping here every day. What were you thinking I was talking about, you sick FREAK? My only complaint is that prices are too high here. Like something else that I won’t get into. The beer selection is also pretty freaking huge. I was quite amazed at how large this place was. They even have a wide array of organic foods if you’re into throwing your money to scientifically-disproved ideas such as non-GMO food. You can order beer in a growler, sushi at a sushi bar, customized meats at the butcher’s, and so on. Market District has soooooo many options. The Buehler’s is small and only has necessities, so there really is nowhere else to shop if you conveniently forget that the Acme down the street opened up in 2015. Until this past year, the only places to shop in Green were here and the Buehler’s at Main St. The Green area, while not currently a food desert, is a relatively upscale area with a lack of upscale shopping options. Looking back, I’m still glad they converted this Giant Eagle into something more upscale. Most of us locals were so happy about this conversion. I remember when they converted the former Giant Eagle location at this location into a Market District. PS - The chefs got a kick out of my enthusiasm and offer me a sample of their yellow chicken curry! OMG, the broth was spicy enough to bring tears to my eyes, but I loved it! Talk about great flavor, you could pour this curry broth over a bowl of shredded tires and it would make it delicious! 2016⁄ 71 Still, it was very enjoyable (or perhaps I was just happy to have decent food after experiencing the worst Chinese food ever just around the corner). I believe they realize this also because this is the first phở I’ve ever seen prepared where they actually steam the meat prior to placing it in the bowl. They keep it in your typical hot soup warmers so it just doesn’t have that steaming hot goodness to cook the meats instantly. If I had one complaint it would be the phở broth was not piping hot. Their recommendation was spot on! Granted it will probably not make my top 10 list of best phở ever, but for a grocery store chain, it was pretty awesome! Very reasonably priced too $ 6. I was told by the ladies working at a nail salon around the corner that I could get great phở here. This is one awesome grocery store! I can’t speak for the shopping experience, but I was totally digging the variety of hot foods available.
